Triathlon Training
A triathlon training program is dependent on the type of person you are. This is dictated by the experience you have got in triathlons, also the level of performance you can give and your physique.
It’s always good to start with a check-up at your physician, just to make sure you are all fit and healthy.
If you are a serious triathlon athlete then I would thoroughly recommend using a trainer to get you fit for your triathlon training. A trainer can keep you motivated to keep you going when you get tired and lose some motivation – this happens to the best of us.
If you only want to do triathlon a few times a year you can do the training yourself though you’ll need a lot of discipline.
It’s recommended to work harder on your weak sports. All triathlon training must be done gradually, this way your body can adapt easier. The best triathlon athletes train for years before they achieve the Iron Man title. There are no quick fixes to win triathlons – you just become better the more you train.
It’s important to train on the fields as it will improve your overall performance. It will help you because you get to mix with other athletes but more importantly you’ll learn to adapt to the similar racing environment.
Diet is also very important for a triathlon athlete as diet can affect your overall performance.
Triathlon equipment doesn’t always have to be top quality. There are plenty of athletes that use their trusted equipment they have had for years. Some triathlon athletes though use the latest equipment made with the latest technology to give themselves an advantage over the other competitors.
And don’t forget to allow for recovery time in your training schedule because all this hard training will give you injuries and your body needs time to recover from them. The main thing is that you skills as an athlete are the best they can be to give you the advantage over the others. But most of all enjoy the whole triathlon experience.
